The gap

You know your investments.Does your family?

Twenty years of saving leaves your money spread across twenty different places. You hold the whole map in your head. Your family would be starting from a bank statement and a guess. That gap is not a paperwork problem. It is the reason most of this money is never claimed.

What does find them

Home loan, outstanding EMIs Car loan, three years remaining Credit card, revolving balance
These reach your family without any help from you.

₹1.84 lakh crore is lying unclaimed in India.

Not lost. Not stolen. Not spent.
It is sitting with banks, insurance, provident funds and other financial institutions, waiting for the rightful owners to claim it.

Introducing Pass Down

Everything your family needs. In one secure place.

You don’t have to explain everything. Just make sure the right information reaches the right people when they need it.

01

Everything, not just investments

Bank accounts, insurance, investments, property papers, locker details and digital access. If your family would need it to find, claim or manage something, it belongs here.

02

Explanation attached

A policy number on its own isn’t much help. Every item carries your instructions: what it is, who to call, and what to do first.

03

You decide who gets what

Not one sealed envelope for everybody. Each item is assigned to the nominee and beneficiary who should receive it, and nobody sees anything while you are here.

04

It stays current

Life changes. Accounts open, policies expire, nominees change. Update your vault whenever something changes, so your family isn’t left with an outdated map.

How it works

Four steps. Then it runs quietly for years.

01

Fill the vault

Add your accounts, documents and access details. Most people cover the essentials in one evening and add the rest as they remember.

02

Name your people

Add a nominee and a backup. They are told they have been named, and nothing more. Nobody sees anything inside your vault while you are here.

Linked, not opened
03

The app checks in

Choose how often Pass Down checks that you are fine. Daily or weekly, whatever suits you. You confirm with one tap. That is the whole ongoing commitment.

One tap
04

Verified handover

If check-ins stop, nothing happens quickly. We reach out to you first, then to the people you named, and we ask for a death certificate and verified identity before anything at all is released.

It cannot be triggered by a missed tap.

Security

Your vault is encrypted before it leaves your device.
We cannot read any of it.

Pass Down is built so that looking is not possible. Your vault is encrypted on your device before it ever leaves it. The key that opens it is split into separate pieces, held in separate places. No single party holds enough to reconstruct it. Not our engineers. Not our servers. Not us.

Encrypted on your device

AES-256 encryption. Your vault is unreadable before it reaches our servers.

The tools you use today,
weren’t built for inheritance.

We spend decades saving and investing, then rely on tools like a spreadsheet or a free notes app, tools that were never built for inheritance.

A spreadsheet can store it. A will can document it. Pass Down makes sure your family receives it.

Who this is for

If one of these sounds like you, that's enough
to start.

01

Your money lives in twenty different apps

Your bank, investments, insurance and everything else are scattered across different places. Only you know the whole picture.

02

You keep your finances private from your spouse

You want it private while you're here. But you also want them to find it if you're not. Those two things have never been possible at once.

03

Your children are too young to know any of this

They don't need to know today. They just need the information to be there when they're ready for it.

04

You hold crypto

Your seed phrase is the key. If it goes with you, the asset may go with you too.

05

You lost a parent. You're still finding their accounts.

Two years later, something new still turns up. You don't want your family to go through that.

You do not need all five.
One is enough to start.

Pass Down is a digital inheritance vault. You store your bank account details, insurance policies, investment information, passwords, and other important information in a zero-knowledge encrypted vault. While you are alive, only you can see it. When you pass away, your primary nominee receives access to your investment and savings information, and everything else you left for them, securely shared with your family only after 4 stages of death verification are successfully completed.

Pass Down is not a will and is not a legal document. It does not legally transfer asset ownership, process financial transactions, or provide legal advice. It is the information and access layer that sits between your scattered digital life and your family's ability to claim the assets.

You can add as little or as much as you want. Each entry has a label, an account number or username field, an optional password field, and a notes field. You can store bank account details, insurance policy information, investment and demat account details, locker and property information, passwords and login credentials, and personal notes. You decide what goes in and who should have access to it.

Your vault is protected using zero-knowledge architecture and AES-256 encryption. Your data is encrypted on your device before it ever reaches our servers. Pass Down receives and stores only ciphertext and cannot read, access, or decrypt your vault under any circumstances. This is not a policy choice, it is an architectural choice. All data is stored exclusively on India-based servers.

No. The encryption key that protects your vault is split into 4 separate fragments the moment your account is created. Pass Down holds only one of those fragments, and one fragment alone cannot open anything. Even if someone at Pass Down wanted to look inside your vault, it is technically impossible.

A primary nominee is the person who will receive access to your full vault after your death is verified, typically your spouse, adult child, or a trusted family member. A backup nominee serves as a fallback: if your primary nominee is unreachable, unresponsive, or unable to participate in the verification process, your backup nominee steps in to ensure the handover is not blocked. A beneficiary is someone you assign to a specific asset within your vault for context and identification purposes. A nominee can also be a beneficiary. You can add up to 5 beneficiaries.

No. Your nominee cannot see your vault contents while you are alive. Everything you store remains completely private until your death is verified through the full SAFE Protocol verification process.

The SAFE Protocol (Secure Asset Forwarding Engine) is Pass Down's built-in safety and inheritance system. You set a daily or weekly check-in schedule at a time of your choosing. At that time, an alarm reminds you to check in and authenticate yourself through Face ID, Touch ID, or your device PIN. If you miss your check-in, the app sends a repeat alarm at your configured interval (30, 60, or 90 minutes). If you remain unresponsive for more than 24 hours, an automated welfare call is placed to you first. If not attended, an automated welfare call goes to your primary nominee to check if you are safe.

This is a welfare check, not the start of any inheritance process. The vault is only handed over after a multi-stage verification that includes human calls, death certificate submission, and independent nominee confirmation.

Beyond inheritance, the SAFE Protocol also serves as a genuine personal safety system. For anyone living alone, travelling solo, or with family far away, a daily check-in with escalation to a trusted person is independently valuable.

The app sends repeat alarms at your configured interval. After more than 24 hours of total inactivity. Tapping the check-in button at any point fully resets the SAFE Protocol. No one is contacted.

Daily check-in example (7 AM, 30-minute repeat interval)
  • Day 1, 7:00 AM: Alarm fires. Missed.
  • Day 1, 7:30 AM: Repeat alarm fires. Missed.
  • Day 2, 7:00 AM: Scheduled alarm fires again. Missed.
  • Day 2, 7:30 AM: Repeat alarm fires. Missed.
  • After 24 hours of total inactivity: Automated welfare call placed to you first. If not attended, a welfare call is placed to your primary nominee.
Weekly check-in example (Wednesday 7 AM, 30-minute repeat interval)
  • Wednesday, 7:00 AM: Alarm fires. Missed.
  • Wednesday, 7:30 AM: Repeat alarm fires. Missed.
  • Thursday, 7:00 AM: After 24 hours of total inactivity, automated welfare call placed to you first. If not attended, a welfare call is placed to your primary nominee.

Any successful check-in at any point fully resets the SAFE Protocol.

Go to Settings, then Account, then Delete Account. Once you initiate deletion, a 30-day window begins. You can return at any time within those 30 days by simply logging back in. If you do not log in within 30 days, your account and all data are permanently and irreversibly deleted. Your nominee's access to anything you had shared with them is also removed immediately when deletion is initiated.
